Safety

• Read instructions carefully before installing and operating.

• Please keep instructions for future reference and hand them over to

any new user.

• In the text of this manual the reference KLC 500 is used to refer to the

control unit model KLC 500 / 3LC S01 US/AU.

• Never let children operate or play with the system.

• The battery backup must not be covered (maximum casing tempera-

ture: 104°F/40°C).

• This product has been designed for use with genuine VELUX products.

Connection to or use with other products may cause damage, malfunc-

tion or injury.

• The battery backup is connected to a Class 2 Low Voltage power sup-

ply (19-24 V d.c.).

• If repair and adjustment work is needed to the system or the skylight

including products connected to it, disconnect from the main power

supply and ensure that it cannot be reconnected unintentionally.

• During power failure, the skylight including products connected to it

might be activated automatically via the battery backup.

• The product must not be put into operation until it has been fitted ac-

cording to these instructions.

• Before operating, ensure that the product can be and is operated with-

out risk of damage to property or injury to people or animals.

Installation

• The system is for indoor use only.

• Installation either in rooms with a high level of humidity or with hidden

wiring must comply with relevant regulations (contact a qualified

electrician if necessary).

Product

• Electrical products must be disposed of in conformity with all local

codes, ordinances, rules and regulations for electronic waste and not

with household waste.

• The packaging can be disposed of with usual household waste.

Maintenance and service

• The battery backup should be tested periodically by interrupting the

power and checking that the indicator lamp flashes.

• Disconnect control unit KLC 500 from the main supply and battery

backup KLB 100 from the system before carrying out any maintenance

(including cleaning of pane) or service work to the system or skylight

including products connected to it and ensure that it cannot be recon-

nected unintentionally during this time.

• The product requires a minimal amount of maintenance. The surface

may be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth using a small amout of house-

hold cleaner diluted in water.

• Spare parts are available through your VELUX sales company. Please

provide information from the data plate.

• There are no serviceable parts inside the product.

• If you have any technical questions, please contact your VELUX sales
